Ed Phillips, Future Planet Capital

Ed Phillips is an Investment Director at Future Planet Capital where he manages the Blue Ocean fund and sits on the investment committees for its flagship funds and the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund. He is a Director at Captura, and has led investments into companies including NeoVac, Queen of Raw, Vaarst/RovCo, Aria Pharmaceuticals, Navenio and Vaccitech. As part of the founding team at Future Planet Capital, Phillips helped grow the firm from a US$20 million experiment fund to over US$400 million in committed capital today. He has led investments for a number of strategies, including a pandemic response micro-fund with Barclays, followed by an ocean-focused fund for the government of Monaco. He also developed Future Planet Capital’s partnership with Seedrs. Before Future Planet Capital, Phillips researched molecular genetics at Hong Kong University and received a 1st (Hons) in Biological Sciences at Bristol University.
