Masaru Okubo is Senior Stewardship Officer at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management (SMTAM) Americas. He joined SMTAM‘s stewardship development team as a senior stewardship officer in charge of company engagement in 2019, relocating to the firm’s New York office to develop ESG services in the Americas region. Okubo has since expanded into policy engagement activities through participation in investor initiatives on nature and climate. Previously, he worked for over 20 years as a global equities analyst and a portfolio manager for SMTAM, covering various sectors across North America, Europe and Japan.
